MOYLAN, KING-HINDS CALL FOR EXTENSION OF COMMENT PERIOD ON 

POTENTIAL DEEP-SEA MINING NEAR GUAM AND ROTA

(Washington, D.C.) Congressman James C. Moylan announced that Guam is among the 18 States and Territories approved to move forward under the National Telecommunications and Information Administration’s Broadband, Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program, a major step toward improving internet access across the island and lowering costs for families and small businesses.

CONGRESSMAN MOYLAN CO-LEADS BIPARTISAN EFFORT TO REINSTATE DE MINIMIS PROTECTIONS FOR GUAM & OTHER U.S. TERRITORIES (Washington, D.C.) – Congressman James Moylan has joined the delegates of the Northern Mariana Islands, U.S. Virgin Islands, and American Samoa in introducing H.R. 5960 - Territorial De Minimis Exemption Act, bipartisan legislation to reverse the impacts of Executive Order 14324, which abruptly suspended the de minimis exemption for low-value shipments from the U.S. territories.

“I am aware of reports that the Administration is exploring the possibility of moving the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) program from the Department of Education to the Department of Health and Human Services. Based on what has been reported, this proposal would mirror actions taken earlier this year to shift certain career and technical education programs to the Department of Labor, where day-to-day administration was transferred while the Department of Education retained oversight and leadership responsibilities.
