HOUSE PASSES H.R.877 THE DELIVER FOR VETERANS ACT

April 8, 2025

(Washington, D.C.) Today, the House of Representatives has unanimously passed H.R. 877, The Deliver for Veterans Act. The legislation is a critical step towards ensuring that veterans in remote areas, such as Guam, have better access to adaptive vehicles through the Department of Veterans Affairs' program.

Under the current system, veterans with disabilities who qualify for adaptive vehicles face significant financial barriers in remote areas like Guam. Due to the unavailability of these vehicles on the island, veterans have been burdened with the additional cost of shipping. H.R. 877 aims to address this issue by adding shipping costs to the program, eliminating the financial strain on veterans living in remote regions.

"This legislation is a crucial step towards ensuring that our veterans, regardless of their geographical location, have equitable access to the services and support they deserve. By including shipping costs in the program, we can alleviate the financial burden on veterans living in Guam, and other areas of the world. I want to express my deepest gratitude to my colleagues in the House for their unwavering support and commitment to our veterans. Together, we have taken a significant step towards fulfilling our duty to those who have sacrificed so much for our nation," stated Congressman Moylan.

Upon the successful passage of the bill in the House, H.R. 877 will now move to the Senate for further action.
