FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - FEBRURARY 1, 2023

DELEGATE MOYLAN SELECTED TO SERVE IN SUBCOMMITTEES

(Washington, DC). A couple of weeks ago, Delegate James Moylan was selected to serve on two Standing House Committees: House Armed Services Committee (HASC) and House Natural Resources Committee (HNRC). Today he was assigned to serve on four Subcommittees, which essentially are part of HASC and HNRC. The assignments include:

HOUSE ARMED SERVICES COMMITTEE

  1. Subcommittee on Readiness- This subcommittee has jurisdiction over military construction, readiness, military installations, base realignments, training, logistics, and maintenance.

  2. Subcommittee on Military Personnel- This subcommittee has jurisdiction over military personnel, Reserve Component integration and employment, dependent schools, Morale, Welfare, and Recreation, commissaries, cemeteries under the jurisdiction of the DOD, and the civilian and contract workforce.

HOUSE NATURAL RESOURCES COMMITTEE

  1. Subcommittee on Indian and Insular Affairs- This subcommittee has jurisdiction over the insular areas, specifically Guam and the other territories.

  2. Subcommittee on Federal Lands- This subcommittee has jurisdiction over national parks, Bureau of Land Management lands, and outdoor recreation programs.

“It certainly is an honor to be selected to serve not only on HASC and HNRC, but to be able to also engage in discussions within these subcommittees. While the Guam delegate may not have a final vote on the floor, we do in committee, and this is exactly where we can establish some dialogue and leverage on our issues. This is especially more critical when it comes to issues which benefit our constituency collectively”, stated Delegate Moylan.
