CONGRESSWOMAN BORDALLO AND CONGRESSMAN MOYLAN PRESENT PROCLAMATION HONORING 250TH BIRTHDAY OF THE U.S. ARMY
(Hagåtña, Guam) In a strong display of bipartisan unity and respect for the armed forces, former Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo and Congressman Moylan visited the Pentagon this week to present a special proclamation of the Governor of Guam to the Secretary of the Army, Daniel Driscoll in celebration of the U.S. Army’s 250th birthday.
“I thank Congresswoman Bordallo, Governor Lou Leon Guerrero, and Lt. Governor Josh Tenorio for providing this opportunity to demonstrate Guam’s solidarity, underscoring the One Guam Approach. This joint effort reflects our shared values and commitment to honoring our service members- past, present, and future,” said Congressman Moylan.
The presentation was well received by Secretary Driscoll who commended the bipartisan nature of the visit and Guam’s longstanding tradition of military service. He further added that Guam is the first out of the fifty states and territories to present a proclamation to the Army, recognizing its vital role in our national security.
“As a veteran myself, I know firsthand the values our soldiers carry. It was truly an honor to join former Congresswoman Bordallo in this moment of unity and respect for those who serve,” added Congressman Moylan.
The people of Guam have a proud and enduring relationship with the U.S. armed forces. As a territory with the highest per capita rate of military enlistment in the nation, our people continue to serve with distinction across all branches of service. The proclamation affirms the island's ongoing support and gratitude toward the U.S. Army on this historic milestone.
